For our Packaging class we were asked to create a new line of packaging for any sports brand. My choice fell upon Wilson after reading their 100-year timeline. It featured a lot of great ads from their past, while outlining the history of the brand. It felt like something exciting to work with.
Wilson is one of the largest sporting goods companies in the world and their capital W is recognized worldwide. I spent quite some time trying to figure out a way to package all the products in a new way while keeping the visible. The solution for the golf balls became a W-shape on the side. This shape was then translated into a pattern. The main label for Wilson once more features the W-shape as a crown. Indicating that they are the king of golf.
